Note to Self: Do not leave good snack beside your bed. You’ll never stop eating them.

Guys, guess what! I finally made it to work early enough today for me to pick up lunch! Yay me! It has only taken about 17 days to get my life together. I’m still progressively getting late to work (9:50 because of the grocery shopping) but I promise I will get my life back on track. I mean, I complete all my projects on time and with efficiency so I call it a trade-off.. ha..ha..haaaa. (Looks around skeptically)

Today at work I was given an assignment to create Powerpoint about our competitor mapping. Well, I didn’t want just any old Powerpoint, I mean a dog could make one of those. I decided to create the REALEST Powerpoint ever adapted for a work setting. And you know I put GIFs all up in that thing. (But I’m a wuss. So I’m making a professional one for my boss who I have to present to, but sending the funny one to my coworkers.)

After work I went to my final Italian lesson and learned about hair and… and…shoot, I don’t remember. Someone will bring it to the forefront of my mind one of these Italian days. Then immediately after lesson I went out with my housemates to eat at a restaurant. And my coworkers would be please to know that I ordered the seasoned and raw ham pizza (crudo). Then treated myself to some pear and chocolate torte thing and headed home.

My Day:

  • Finished my original project for work way too early and bullcrapped my time by making a professional Powerpoint presentation and a GIF, highly inappropriate in a work setting, Powerpoint.
  • Managed to get to the grocery store. Accurately weigh a fruit and purchase it. And ask for my ham pizza to be warmed up in Italian. BOW!
  • I headed to my Italian lesson where I learned some things and lost some things… like knowledge on Italian… oh wait now I remember! We also learned how to say different relatives and family information.
  • I waited for my food in a restaurant for over 2 hours. Yes, it took about 30 minutes for someone to come wait us. Then it took another 30 minute for out meals to arrive. Then 30 minutes for someone to wait us so that we could order our dessert. Then another 30 minutes for that to arrive as well. Meanwhile people who walked in after us got their meals and desserts in quite an efficient time. And then the damn place didn’t take credit card.
  • I came home after the restaurant ordeal and ate a bowl of cereal and those Gocciole biscotti.

What I Learned Today:

  • Dogs are allowed in restaurants, groceries, and many other such places. Hygiene standards are not at an all time high in Italy because the F in Fido is for Family, not FDA.
  • Italians are patient for food. And also very opinionated. I asked the waiter tonight in the restaurant for Crudo pizza and a sprite. He asked me nearly 5 times if I was sure I wanted Crudo and Sprite. To which I replied “Yes”, each time. #Don’tTellMeHowToLiveMyLife
  • After he asked me for the umpteenth time if I was sure, we both realized he thought I wanted a Sprite with ham in it. I learned today that I need to speak slower and wait until specific questions are asked before I answer prematurely about everything I want because I think I’m being more helpful. This is me “being helpful”
  • You pay for each grocery bag you take here. My reaction when I found out they are ten cents a bag.
  • Some streets are cobblestone, some are not. You can wear whatever shoes you like, just be ready to never know which day you’re going to get what. Momma always said life is like a street, you never know if you’re gonna get hit by a car or walk on cobblestone.
  • Speaking of cars. NOBODY looks both ways before they cross the street here. They just dart into oncoming traffic and the cars stop. No-one gets road rage over people jutting out into the streets.
  • Also, everyone crosses at the crosswalks and j-walking isn’t really an acceptable thing. I mean, if you’re going to dart into oncoming traffic at least be courteous enough not to jump out from behind parked cars. I j-walked once here and the expression on the Italians faces looked something like this…

Io sono bene. That It the Clown GIF gives me the heebie jeebies, but it expressed what I needed it to.
